Dennis Aigner During the five-year period 2000-05, Dr. Dennis Aigner held the position of Dean of the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He now holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Bren School. In addition, Dr. Aigner is Professor of Economics and former Dean at the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. On behalf of the University of California, he directs the intercampus MBA emphasis in Corporate Environmental Management, which is housed at the Bren School.
Before coming to UCI, Dr. Aigner was Professor of Economics and Chairman of the Department of Economics at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He was on the teaching faculties at the University of Illinois-Urbana and the University of Wisconsin-Madison prior to his appointment at USC in 1976. He received his BS and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and holds an MA in Applied Statistics from that same institution.
Woody Clark Dr. Woodrow Clark II is a Senior Fellow at the Milken Institute's Capital Studies Group, focusing on environmental and renewable energy finance research and program development. The Institute's work in this area looks at creating financial instruments to fund environmental conservation – such as developing options for monetizing ecosystems – and maximize the shareholder value of environmentally and energy-based technologies and enterprises. Dr. Clark was former deputy director and senior policy advisor to the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research (2000-2003), where he was responsible for developing the state's policies and program development on renewable energy, advanced technology and finance.
From 1994 to 1999, Dr. Clark was manager of strategic planning in the Energy Directorate at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He was a co-author and co-editor of the Climate Change Report from the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the Framework Convention on Climate Change reports on "Technology Commercialization" for emerging nations series of reports on new technology applications to energy and environmental problems.
Lee Cooper A member of the marketing faculty at UCLA's Anderson School since 1969, Dr. Lee Cooper has conducted substantial research in market-share analysis and the measurement of marketing effectiveness. His achievements include the development of a system of competitive analysis and marketing planning based on data obtained from retailer scanners, and methods for analyzing consumer perceptions and competitive mapping. His current research stream involves developing approaches to strategic marketing planning for radically new products, data mining, digital convergence, and technology-enabled marketing.
Dr. Cooper is principal investigator on Project Action: Planning for Radically New Products supported by grants from Intel Corporation (1996-99) and software donations from Microsoft Corporation. Project Action is dedicated to addressing the issues of research on and planning for radically new products. Now in its second phase, the Venture Development Project, it focuses on helping to bring the radical innovations from UCLA labs to market and using that effort as a learning laboratory for UCLA students interested in the process of new-venture creation.
Dr. Cooper served as area chair of the marketing faculty from 1988 to 1991. He has also served on the Faculty Advisory Committee for the Program in Social Statistics and the Museum of Cultural History and as director of the Management in the Arts Program. He currently teaches market assessment and strategic marketing planning for new ventures at UCLA Anderson, and directs the Venture Development Project in the Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
